The Nerazzurri coach's comments after the incredible comeback against Como

A match that showed great character and maturity, as Inter took an important step forward ahead of the final stretch of the season. The victory against Como is a huge one for the Nerazzurri, earned through sheer grit after a difficult start and a 2-0 deficit. Inter ultimately emerged victorious after an intense contest to move nine points clear of second-placed SSC Napoli.

At the end of the match, Cristian Chivu reflected on the Nerazzurri’s performance:

“It wasn't straightforward: Como are fighting for a major objective, and they proved that hunger in the first half with their pressing and movement. We struggled to play out. We were two goals behind, but reacted immediately. That vital goal gave us the confidence for the second half when we raised the tempo and showed character, managing the comeback. The set-piece goals are the product of the work all the staff and team put in. We worked exclusively on that this morning because we know how important they are. We have great set-piece takers and strong aerial players; it would be a shame not to make the most of them. This is a win that shows maturity. We need to understand that we must stay ambitious: we came into the game with the knowledge that we could extend our lead, but at the start, we were surprised by their intensity. We then showed our maturity and character. We really missed Dumfries; he gives us more depth and is a vital asset for set pieces. Luis Henrique is great at controlling the ball, while Denzel brings more physicality and attacking runs. He proved that today. ”
