The words of the Nerazzurri coach after the away win to Lazio

Inter aren't stopping now, they're pushing right to the end. Fresh from securing their 21st Scudetto, the Nerazzurri produced another impressive display away to Lazio, the same side they’ll face again in a few days’ time at the Olimpico in the Coppa Italia final.

The 3-0 scoreline only partly reflects the work put in by Cristian Chivu’s team, and after the match the coach was eager to praise the character and values shown by his players:

“Lautaro's greatest quality is the way he gives everything every time he plays, with passion, professionalism and total commitment. And the credit also goes to the rest of the team for following his lead and putting him in the best situations to do what he does best. In general, winning the Scudetto is the achievement of a fantastic group and a fantastic team. They deserve everything they’re experiencing right now. We have principles and values that matter above everything else. The players are doing an incredible job and enjoying themselves while trying to control games and dominate possession. In the end, the system doesn’t matter that much, what really counts are values, mentality, and the way you interpret the game, how you use the space on the pitch and react to the opponent’s defensive approach. We’ve shown this season that we’re capable of playing this kind of football. In some matches we did it better than in others, but there’s always room to improve and keep working. Josep Martinez was ready long before now, just like Sommer and Di Gennaro. They’re part of the soul of this group, just like the young players coming through from the academy. Our goalkeepers are of international level, we’ve never doubted their quality. I’m just enjoying an incredible team right now. There’s no need to compare different eras or different teams - times change, football changes. Both the 2010 team and this 2026 side have brought happiness to the fans, and that’s what matters most.”
