A tough evening for Inter, defeated by AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg. The Nerazzurri are eliminated from the competition: at the end of the match, Stefan De Vrij spoke in his post-match interview, starting with the moment that could've reopened the match:
“I struck it well but Maignan made a brilliant stop. It was a chance that could've opened the match up but it didn't go in, we pushed for the goal but we couldn't get it. We've played a lot of games this season, but that's not the point. We played well in the first half, we created a lot of chances but it didn't go well and they scored with their first chance. This is how it went but we have to stay positive, even though this defeat hurts we have to put it behind us and work hard for to achieve our goals. We've played lots of games but we want this. Before this evening, at the end of April, we were on track in all competitions. Today hurts because it would've been the chance to win a trophy, but we have to look forward because we have other objectives, we've still got lots to do in this season. ”
