Nevertheless, we went toe to toe with Bayern, showing determination and courage. It’s a top-level result that makes us happy. Bayern’s numbers are incredible, so we’ve done something important. However, we need to build on this performance in front of our fans in seven days’ time. I expected more pressing from them, but they came up against an Inter side who played well. We scored two goals after building from the back and moving the ball well. We never stopped believing we could win despite conceding an equaliser. In the day and a half we had to prepare for the match, we talked a lot. We needed to keep them out of possession and play with character. We did well in the opening 45 minutes, before Bayern made a strong start to the second half. However, we stayed composed and focused, as our goal at the end proves.”
