— Mar 1st 2025The thoughts of the Inter coach at the end of the 1-1 draw away to Napoli
A difficult game, full of chances, which saw Inter show great heart and sacrifice. The Nerazzurri knew how to respond to the difficulties giving all they had, as Simone Inzaghi explained at the end of the match:
“The match was tough: the first half was balanced, we did well. We had some problems in the second half, Napoli grew into it a lot, they're a great team and more fresh than us, we needed to raise our level even higher. We should've done better when it came to the goal, but with the forced change to Dimarco I had to put Dumfries on the left: the lads were exceptional, they gave everything they had. All of the top teams are having a brilliant campaign, the league campaign is long and difficult. Obviously we have to be perfect in the direct clashes. We had to be better this evening and more reactive right until the end and equaliser, allowing Lobotka to enter the area: when you play 40 matches in the year, you tend to concede more late goals. Entering into these games is not easy, the lads tried to help us, but Napoli did very well in the second well in a physical sense: I thought about the 4-4-2, but with Politano and Spinazzola, I wanted to maintained the width and we settled with Pavard on the right and Dumfries on the left. ”
