A close-range finish in stoppage time of the first half, and then a beautiful chip to make the most of Butez coming off his line: Marcus Thuram demonstrated his quality today during Inter's showdown with Como at the Sinigaglia. The Frenchman was decisive with his goals that came either side of half-time and wiped out Como's early lead.
Two goals, lots of emotions, and a celebration by the corner flag, just like Thiery Henry, the legendary French striker who was in the stands to watch Como vs. Inter:
“We scored just before half-time, and it really paved the way for the second half. It's all about managing emotions. The national team was good for me. I was able to get a change of scenery, and scoring for France gave me some more confidence, which is great for Inter. Being able to come back from behind is vital, especially when you get a victory like this with only a few games left. But until it's numerically certain, you can't say the title race is over. Ten goals? It took me a bit longer than usual; it's been a long journey, but I got there in the end. I normally get to that milestone a bit sooner, but that's okay. The most important thing is that Inter win. The celebration? There was someone very important to me in the stands; he used to celebrate like that, and I wanted to dedicate it to him!”
