— Apr 20th 2025The thoughts of the Inter Coach at the end of Bologna 1-0 Inter
Difficult evening for Inter who lost at Dall'Ara after a hard-fought and balanced game against Bologna, who won following Orsolini's late goal. At the end of the match, Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts on the performance:
“There was the episode with the throw in. The boys were a bit annoyed because the ball went out near our technical area and was taken from the Bologna area. Then, a throw in followed from that one and we should've defended it better, were in numerical superiority. We've lost an important match which we didn't deserve to lose, we fought back blow for blow so it hurts. It's a defeat which hurts but the league doesn't end here, we're going forward with lots of confidence. Tonight wasn't the time for analysis, we should've defended better and not let the ball get to Orsolini, but I can't fault my players. We have a couple of players out, the only players booked from today -Mkhitaryan and Bastoni- were at risk before the match and now won't play on Sunday. We'll be in the Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday. We'll analyse the game more clearly tomorrow but the league doesn't end here. Where do we go from here? We start from today's performance, we fought blow for blow and fought against an in-form side, the lads gave everything they had. We respected Bologna, tried to attack when the time was right, a draw would've been fair but we will move ahead without problems. Napoli? We're level on points, there's five games to go. The schedule has a role to play, it won't be easy for us, nor for Napoli or the teams vying for a Champions League place. Now, we will analyse what we could've done better without looking for excuses and we will move on. ”
