The thoughts of the Nerazzurri Coach after the defeat to Bologna

Inter fell to a 1-0 defeat to Bologna in Sunday's lunchtime kick-off on matchday 24 in Serie A. This is what Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:

"Our first-half performance was poor and not up to Inter standards. Our approach wasn't the best. We did better in the second half and created a few opportunities. The condition of the pitch didn't help either side. Nevertheless, we needed to do more in the first half in terms of running, aggression and determination. Then, during our best spell of the game, we conceded.

"More composure was required because we had some big opportunities, like the ones that fell to Calhanoglu and Dzeko. Had we taken the lead, we probably would have been able to manage things better.

"We know that fatigue can set in after European matches; they take it out of you. However, we also know that we're used to this, and, three days on from the game against Porto, we needed to do better in many respects.

"We've done really well at San Siro, but we need to do more away from home. We need to step things up on the road; this is what is required for us to remain in second place.

"Bologna's approach was better. Usually, we start better than we did today, and, as the coach, I can't be happy. This is a defeat that hurts. Now, we need to focus on ourselves, aware that we need to do more and better in these games that come after European matches."
