The Coach's thoughts following Inter's victory over Cremonese

Inter came from behind to beat Cremonese on matchday 20 in Serie A: after Okereke had given the hosts the lead at the Stadio Zini, the Nerazzurri struck back through a Lautaro Martinez brace to move up to 40 points in the league. This is what Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:

"I congratulated the team because they produced an excellent performance and approached it in the best possible way. Then, Cremonese scored a screamer, something which could have resulted in a few problems for us after coming into the game on the back of a defeat to Empoli. However, the team remained focused. We were up against a side that had got the better of Napoli and come away with a good point in Bologna, and I'm happy with the character we displayed. Our approach was good, and then we stayed concentrated."

The gift for a fan? "There was a young Inter fan who was cheering us on throughout the game, and it was a gesture that came to me spontaneously. There were once again many fans here tonight, and they supported us from start to finish."

The goals Inter are conceding? "We're working on it. We're Inter and have an obligation to win and produce great performances. We need to push on, aiming to improve and always do better in the process.

"I saw some great things tonight: we approached the game well and were aggressive. We knew we would be facing a team doing well, but if I had to find a negative, we probably made too many mistakes with our final ball, meaning we weren't able to extend our lead and had to go into the final few minutes just 2-1 up. Nevertheless, the team displayed a great reaction.

"Dzeko and Lautaro are doing well, but Lukaku and Correa are both returning. They've had problems but are training really well. They played 20 minutes this evening, and their fitness levels will improve."

The derby? "Before Sunday, we'll be involved in a quarter-final against Atalanta, and that's what we're thinking about. We'll start focusing on the derby after Tuesday. We're playing every three and a half days and want to do as best we can. We hope to get more players back from injury and suspension so they can help us with all these games coming up. The Coppa Italia is a competition that we need to honour as best we can. We'll be facing a side in great form but will leave no stone unturned in our preparations."
