A hard-fought victory, secured after a match that was contested until the final second. Inter won 1-0 at home against Arsenal in the fourth round of the 2024/25 Champions League group stage. The match was decided by a penalty converted by Calhanoglu just before halftime.
At the end of the match, Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts:
“Tonight was an important response. We have 23 starting players because we know we need everyone. We’ve been playing every 72 hours in recent weeks, and today we faced a very strong team, so I knew we needed to rotate. It was a great victory in our stadium, in front of our fans. It’s important to enjoy the evening, but we know we have to play again very soon. In this cycle of matches, we started with some issues, so some players had to play more and needed to rest. I have great faith in everyone. We’ve played against City and Arsenal, two of the best teams in Europe, and we’re proud, but we must keep going. We need to maintain a clean sheet for the standings, and the next two matches will be tough and demanding”
