Inzaghi: "We deserved to win but now need to look forward"

“It’s disappointing because we’ve won this competition in the past two years and, after controlling the match like we did, we deserved to win the game. However, that’s football for you. I can only find faults with the final 15 minutes of extra time; otherwise, we played well. Lautaro suffered a strain which will have to be assessed, and we hope that it’s nothing. The doctors are quite relaxed about it, but we’ll have to evaluate things given that we have another game in 72 hours. We just need to carry on and look forward. Arnautovic did what he needed to do and what we asked of him. He wasn’t fortunate in front of goal but put in a positive performance. We could have done better for their second goal, but I think 90% of Serie A players would have struggled to chase down Ndoye. Sensi also did well and what was expected of him.”
