Three points for the Nerazzurri in their final home match of the year: the thoughts of the Inter head coach after the match

Inter came away with an important win in their final match at San Siro in 2024, with a Carlos Augusto header and a Marcus Thuram rocket proving enough for the Nerazzurri to beat Como and move up to 37 points in the table. This is what Simone Inzaghi had to say after the game:

“Compliments to Como: they were proactive and displayed character, putting in plenty of running. However, we didn’t allow them to have many opportunities. The pitch made things a bit harder for us because it wasn’t as perfect as it normally is, but we produced a mature performance, playing as a team. We knew that we could win the game by increasing the tempo in the second half, and we struck at the right moment. Together with his teammates and the staff, Thuram has worked well, and he adapted to our principles right from the get-go. He continues to get better and is a quality player. Frattesi? At Inter, just like in other teams, there’s competition for places, but he’s working well. He played 90 minutes against Udinese, and he did well after coming on today. We need to keep it up and carry on taking it game by game because we’re playing a lot of matches. Lautaro? He’s our captain and had chances tonight. He needs to confidently carry on what he’s doing so he can keep on scoring like he’s always done. He must stay calm, fully aware that his team are winning and he has the support of everyone.”
