Inter were defeated by Juventus in Turin and stay on 54 points in the standings, two points behind the leaders Napoli. It's a bitter evening for the Nerazzurri who could've taken the lead on multiple occasions, even striking the post through Dumfries, before Conceçaio's goal came in the 74th minute. Here are the the thoughts of Coach Simone Inzaghi at the end of the match:
“There's a bitter taste: we're disappointed but the lads put in a courageous display showing determination and technical quality. I have no reason to blame the lads: we created lots of chances, but we needed to do better in finishing our chances off, scoring and closing the first half. We have to work even harder, because what we are doing isn't enough. In the second half, we knew that Juventus would grow into it, we weren't as fluid as we were in the first half, then we conceded a goal. In the second half, our approach wasn't as good, but we sorted ourselves out after the first 15 minutes of the half, the changes helped us shift momentum. This evening was totally different compared to the one in Florence, but we have to change gear, especially in the direct clashes. We should've done better, we created chances, we're talking about a defeat that hurts and that'll make us work even harder than before. We deserved more, we really cared about this match but there are many more left, we have to do even better. The game against Napoli? It'll be an important match but we will take on Genoa and Lazio beforehand, then we'll be in an important direct clash and we will try to give our all. Now, we have a week to work, analyse and prepare in the best way possible for the next matches. ”
