De Vrij responds to Reijnders: the thoughts of Simone Inzaghi at the end of the clash against AC Milan

De Vrij's 93rd minute equaliser secured the 1-1 draw following Reijnders' goal, giving a reward to the Nerazzurri's constant pressing, denied three times by hitting the post in a unique match with lots of Inter chances. It was a game which also saw Zalewski make his debut, making an impact straight away with an assist for the goal scored by the Dutch defender. The thoughts of Simone Inzaghi at the end of the match:

“I can only compliment the team, for how they overcame every obstacle this evening. Three ruled-out goals, hitting the post three times and an obvious penalty not given. Despite this, we managed to get something from the game. I should also give kudos to AC Milan because they also played very well and didn't give it, they're a team with legs and quality. I don't want to say much about the penalty because it's a wide discussion, but we had four or five incidents like this and it's starting to annoy me. We had the match in our hands, we had to be better in attacking the depth, I think we deserved more from the 95 minutes of play. We deserved more, football is like this. We recovered in the 93rd minute, it's a derby and we'll go forward with our heads down in the best of ways. It's our 17th match is just two months and we want to go forward with this desire. Zalewski? I think he came on in the right way, he's got a quality that we've been lacking. I am happy to have him, he trained well this morning and he was ready. He'll help us out a lot.”
