Juventus vs. Inter, the stories of victories and heroes
Team
— Sep 11th 2025A recap of the Nerazzurri's victories in Turin
They left lasting marks. With the ball, of course, but also with destiny. In Turin's toughest arena, Inter has tasted sweet victory 16 times. A record that is not only about the numbers, but also the memories, the racing hearts. The names light up like streetlamps in the night: Weisz, Meazza, Amadei, Nyers, Suarez, Mazzola, Sosa, Cruz, Milito, Calhanoglu. A chain that links the legends of distant eras, a Nerazzurri thread that for nearly a century has spanned across time and the pitch.
The official statistics tell the story with 184 Serie A encounters since 1929/30, 88 wins for Juventus, 47 draws, and 49 victories for the Nerazzurri. In Turin, there have been eleven wins on the pitch and one, symbolic and bitter, was awarded off the pitch after Gabriele Marini's injury and the attack on the Inter coach. But the story goes back even further. In 1930, Inter's Arpad Weisz claimed their first Scudetto of the single round format thanks to a 2-1 win in Turin with goals from Visentin and Giuseppe Meazza, already a king and a legend.
In '48 on a special Thursday, Amedeo Amadei scores with his right foot from twenty metres out, and it's a victory. In '51, a brace from Nyers paves the way for an era of Hungarian talent.
In the 60s, the era of the Grande Inter, the Nerazzurri experienced three major triumphs. In '61, Hitchens, Suarez, and Bettini orchestrate an impressive 4-2 victory. In '63 on 28 April, Sandro Mazzola scored the goal that secured a piece of the Scudetto: +6 over Juve, the eighth title practically in the bag, and Sandro leaves the pitch with a jacket he borrowed off a photographer after giving away his shirt to a fan.
In '65, Suarez and Gori scored to make it 2-0 and pave the Nerazzurri's path to their ninth Scudetto, overtaking Milan with three matchdays to go and heading towards another moment of glory to be shared with Inter fans.
Then came 1993: Bagnoli as coach, Sossa and Shalimov on the scoresheet, a strong Inter side returning to victory in Turin after 28 years.
In the 2000s, it was the 'Jardinero' era: Julio Cruz scored seven goals against Juventus and secured two wins at the Delle Alpi. In 2003, a masterpiece of a free-kick sealed a 3-1 victory with Martins. In 2005, a sharp header led to a 0-1 win.
Then there's Diego Milito, prince of a historic strike. On 3 November 2012, Juventus Stadium was beaten for the first time in its history: after a goal from Vidal, Milito came in with a brace, and Palacio sealed the 3-1 victory with a goal. A win that remains etched in our minds.
Up to the recent chapter: April 2022. In Turin, the Nerazzurri found their league victory after almost ten years. A perfect penalty from Calhanoglu decided the game on an intensely tense evening.
These are the Nerazzurri legacies in Turin. Every time, more than a victory, a mark, a story, a part of history.
