The Dutch midfield gave his first exclusive interview to Inter TV
MILANO - Davy Klaassen has joined Inter. The Dutch midfielder presented himself in an exclusive interview with Inter TV, in which he discussed his excitement at starting this new adventure with the Nerazzurri.
You're joining to complete a strong midfield. What are your main characteristics and what do you think you can bring to this team?
I'm a complete player, who can help the team both in attack and defence. I'm here because I want to win a lot of trophies.
You're a versatile player: you can play wider or more central. Where do you think you will slot into this Inter midfield?
I prefer to play in the centre of the park, that's my best position.
Your nickname is "Mister One Nil" because you often score the first goal. But you're quite prolific in general, last year you scored 10 goals...
I've always scored a lot in my career. I don't know if it's a coincidence but I've often scored the opening goal. And that's why they gave me the nickname, which I'm very proud of.
You've played in the Netherlands, England and Germany. What do you expect from the Italian league?
I expect to have fun. It's a tough league and I've heard a lot of good things from some former teammates. I can't wait to get going.
You played for Ajax's youth teams and then spent 15 years in the first team. What drove you to look for a new adventure?
Sometimes you need a change of scenery. I can't wait to start this new adventure and win with Inter.
At Inter, you'll be linking up with two of your international teammates in De Vrij and Dumfries. Have you spoken to them yet?
Yeah, I spoke to them and they told me a bit about the Club and the team, and they only had positive things to say.
