— Feb 5th 2023Post-match derby reaction from two key players: Federico Dimarco and El Toro, whose goal sealed the win
This time, once again, it was El Toro's determination that sealed the Milan derby. It's now seven goals against AC Milan for Inter's second-best foreign striker in the history of the cross-city derby. After Stefano Nyers (11), Lautaro Martínez is the 12th player in Nerazzurri history to reach 70 Serie A goals, making him the third overseas player to do so after Icardi and Nyers. Here's what he had to say at the end of the match:
“We prepared really hard in the week; I'm really happy because once again we have shown playing football that Milan is Nerazzurri! I feel really good, as soon as the World Cup finished, I said that that win has given me an extra boost; it's the best gift I've ever been given. I learnt so much from it and 'm just trying to put it all out on the pitch. I've worked hard, and I always try to give everything; winning these games is very special, and we've done it again.”

Huge satisfaction also for another key performer on the night, Federico Dimarco:
“We're really pleased, we thoroughly deserved it. Anything can happen in football, but this evening we went out there and really put on a performance. When you start off a derby as favourites, you're always the one to be beaten, but we played really well and deservedly bring home the victory; we're happy. We just need to focus on each game at a time, and we'll see where it take us.”
