Pirelli Player of the Month | Lautaro our standout performer in January!

Lautaro Martinez is the Pirelli Player of the Month for January! Through their votes on Inter's official social media channels, Nerazzurri fans chose El Toro as the team's standout player of the opening month of the year.

For the Nerazzurri captain, January was an extraordinary month: our No.10 scored eight goals in eight matches, delighting Inter fans with moments of real quality that inspired the team to important victories. After scoring against AC Milan in the Supercoppa final, Lautaro made a key contribution to Darmian's winner in Venezia (the Argentinian's shot was saved by Stanković, with the Italian bagging on the follow-up). After that, El Toro found the net in every remaining game in January. After his finish against Bologna, he opened the scoring against Empoli with a powerful strike and got on the scoresheet (and provided an assist) in Lecce. And not forgetting two wonderful performances in the Champions League, with a fantastic goal against Sparta in Prague and a hat-trick against Monaco (to seal automatic qualification to the round of 16).

Lautaro, who was given an MVP award three times (against Empoli, Sparta Praha and Monaco), continues to rewrite Nerazzurri history: the captain has now surpassed Benito Lorenzi to become the Club's sixth highest scorer of all time (144 goals), and he's also matched Sandro Mazzola's record tally of 17 goals in Europe's elite competition.
