“We reached the final last year and now consistently represent Italy in this prestigious competition. That’s a source of pride and honour, and of course we always approach it with the aim of performing well. It’s true that Chivu is experiencing the Champions League as a coach for the first time, but he won this competition as a player and has huge experience, so he knows how to handle our opponents. This new format is tough, and the timing of each fixture matters; you have to be at your best physically and mentally. Our transfer strategy has followed a slightly different model: we’ve invested in five young players, four of whom we’ve brought in and one stepping up from our Youth Sector. This approach aligns with the ownership’s and Club’s vision, and we’re proud of it. I believe the squad matches our ambitions perfectly. Liverpool and Arsenal at San Siro? As a football fan, it’s certainly exciting. Naturally, the level of difficulty is very high, but we’ll give it our all, with our supporters helping us on our home turf. The important thing is to be in perfect physical and mental shape when we face our opponents.”
Giuseppe Marotta - Presidente e CEO
“The Champions League is an important and highly prestigious competition, where Inter once again aim to play a leading role. We'll face top-level, highly competitive teams in stadiums with incredible atmospheres. I'm confident that we'll be ready to honour this tournament in the best way possible”
Cristian Chivu
“We're starting again with the great enthusiasm of this group: it's the beginning of a new journey with a new coach. Reaching the final was a major achievement. It didn't go our way, but we have to look forward. Football always gives you new objectives. We like this competition, and we'll honour it as always. Going for it again won't be easy, but the aim is always to go all the way. Chivu? When we played together, it was easy to imagine that he would become a coach. The same goes for Cambiasso - I always thought that of him too. I know Chivu very well; he was an outstanding teammate, on and off the pitch. He had an important spell coaching in our Youth Sector with the Primavera. Now, he has this great opportunity, and it's up to us to support him and give him everything he needs to have a successful season.”
Javier Zanetti
