— just nowFigo celebrates his 54th birthday: the Club and the fans send their well wishes
His career was defined by his world-class ability, and Luis Figo is now turning 54. One of the best players in the world in the early 2000s, Figo was both technically brilliant and extremely effective, producing unforgettable moments of skill in an Inter shirt. The Portuguese star, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2000, arrived in Milano in the summer of 2005 and quickly won over the Nerazzurri fans with his stepovers, pinpoint crosses and unique ability to light up any match. Wearing the number 7 shirt across four seasons with Inter, Figo made 140 appearances and scored 11 goals, playing a key role in the Club's remarkable success over that period: four Scudetti, one Coppa Italia and three Italian Super Cups. He helped create unforgettable moments such as the 2006 Italian Super Cup, when Inter came from behind to beat Roma 4-3 thanks to a stunning free kick from the Portuguese star in extra time. Luis Figo was born in Almada on 4 November 1972 and celebrates his 54th birthday today; the Club, fans and the entire Inter family send him our warmest wishes.
