APPIANO GENTILE - The UEFA Champions League anthem is about to ring out again. At 21:00 CEST on Wednesday, Inter will face Manchester City in a big clash in Manchester on the opening matchday of the Champions League league phase.

36 clubs will participate in the newly introduced league phase. The top eight sides in the league will qualify automatically for the round of 16, while the teams finishing in 9th to 24th place will compete in a two-legged knock-out phase play-off to be part of the final bracket. Each team will play eight matches, with Inter set to face the following sides: Manchester City, Leipzig, Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Young Boys, Crvena zvezda, Slavia Praha and Monaco.

On the eve of the Champions League clash, the Nerazzurri held a morning session at the BPER Training Centre before their scheduled departure for England in the afternoon. A pre-match press conference will take place at the City of Manchester Stadium this evening.
