Nations League, Stankovic starts for Serbia

Aleksandar Stankovic took to the pitch in Serbia’s 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands, with Xavi’s side coming out on top. At the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, the Nerazzurri midfielder made his second start of this Nations League campaign. Stankovic played 66 minutes before being replaced by Maksimovic.

Zirkzee scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute, putting the Netherlands 2-1 ahead after Cvetkovic had cancelled out Koopmeiners’ opener in the first half. The Netherlands join Greece at the top of League A Group 2 on eight points after four games, with Germany next on five and Serbia bottom on zero.
