Lautaro bags a brace as Inter beat Pisa 2 - 0
Team
— Nov 30th 2025An important win for Chivu's side on Matchday 13 of Serie A, as they return to winning ways and move up to 27 points in the league. The game was decided in the second half by two goals from the Nerazzurri captain, assisted by Esposito and Barella
The captain’s passion; his sprint towards the travelling supporters, his embrace with the whole team. Power and precision, grit and quality, even on a tricky afternoon, in a game that was tense, heated, and never fully under control. There he was: Lautaro Martinez. His left-footed strike flashed under the crossbar with astonishing speed, a brilliant goal created by a perfect first-time assist from Esposito, who had only just come on. Then came the second, meeting Barella’s driven ball across goal. That made it 2-0, a signature brace that delivered three crucial points and lifted Inter to 27 from 13 league games.
It was anything but simple. Gilardino’s Pisa hadn’t conceded at home since September, a number that says everything about a side that is aggressive and ruthless at the Arena Garibaldi. Their intent was clear from the first minute: the two forwards fighting for every ball, stretching the pitch, and driving the team upfield. Pisa produced a performance of real substance, with 10 attempts on goal, several of which were dangerous. Inter controlled possession and managed the phases well, with their best first-half chances coming from headers from Acerbi and Lautaro. Pisa didn’t blink, threatening through Piccinini and repeatedly pushing up the right through the dynamic Touré.
Inter knew this trip would be a challenge, but also that it was too important to waste. Their start to the second half, with Zielinski replacing Sucic, was all about breaking the deadlock. However, the open spaces left for Pisa’s counterattacks became a real problem. In the first 20 minutes after the restart, the home side were far more dangerous, especially through Meister and, above all, Nzola. Then the captain took over.
Chivu brought on Diouf, Bisseck and Esposito. Pio won the ball immediately and slipped it into the box for Lautaro, whose first-time left-footer flew under the bar. Lautaro sprinted towards the away end, unleashing every ounce of Nerazzurri joy. A stunning goal that effectively broke Pisa’s resistance. Inter managed the game from there, staying in control, and struck again: a flowing move through Diouf and Zielinski ending with Barella’s driven cross and another killer finish from Lautaro.
A decisive double, worth three points. And a double that rewrites the club’s record book once again: ten goals this season, six in Serie A, make him the league's top scorer; more importantly, 163 goals for Inter, moving beyond Sandro Mazzola on 161. The captain is officially the club’s fourth-highest scorer of all time. A brilliant flash of light on a cold autumn afternoon, as the sky turned from blue to black.
