Inter finished their latest cycle of games ahead of the upcoming international break with another three points, allowing them to remain top of the Serie A table. Federico Dimarco opened the scoring with an extraordinary effort from 56.08 metres out and had the following to say after the game:
“First of all, I had a look at Denzel, but then I saw the goalkeeper off his line and luckily it landed in the net. It’s one of the best I’ve scored and came after I’d made a slow start: I’d made a few mistakes, but the important thing was to pick up the three points to stay top. The season is long, and we take it game by game. Now, there’s the international break, and then our attentions will turn to Juventus. We’re a great and strong group and need to continue on this path to fight for our objectives.”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who provided the assist for Dimarco’s goal, also spoke after the game:
“I was delighted with the goal and not the assist: it was an incredible effort, and we’re interested in winning matches. Our game against Juventus will be important for both teams, but we need to stay focused on our own game and on how we can inflict damage and come away with three points. We know that it’s an important, must-win game. I said from the start that this campaign would be about building on last season. We’ve grown as a team and inside the changing room, and it’s making a difference. However, we’re also aware that every game is difficult. We play for each other to win games. We fight for every ball and cover every blade of grass, and we want to win all our duels and matches.”
