The 24-year-old defender arrives from Roma

MILANO – FC Internazionale Milano is delighted to announce the signing of Samantha van Diemen. A Dominican Republic international, the 24-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2029.

Born in Leiden, the Netherlands, on 28 January 2002, Samantha van Diemen took her first steps in football with CTO, a development programme run by the Royal Dutch Football Association. When the programme came to an end in 2018, she joined Ajax's youth academy and was part of the squad that won the 2019/20 league title. She went on to make her professional debut for the club on 9 October 2020 against Heerenveen.

In 2021, van Diemen joined Feyenoord, where she spent one season before moving to Fortuna Sittard. After two years there, van Diemen joined Scottish side Glasgow City, making her first move outside the Netherlands. In the summer of 2025, the defender arrived in Italy, joining Roma. During her only season with the Giallorosse, she made twelve appearances across the league, the UEFA Women's Champions League and the Serie A Women's Cup, winning both the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia.

Having represented the Netherlands at youth level and made three senior friendly appearances for the Oranje, van Diemen chose to represent the Dominican Republic, her mother's homeland. She made her debut for the Caribbean nation in May 2025, marking the occasion with a goal in a 4-2 friendly victory over Honduras.
