Serie A Women's Cup: second win for Inter. Goals from Polli, Vilhjalmsdottir and Bugeja

Inter Women celebrated their second consecutive win in the Serie A Women's Cup with a dominant display. The Nerazzurre defeated Fiorentina 3-1, gifting their fans with a performance marked by character, quality and great intensity. Goals from Polli and Vilhjalmsdottir in the first half were followed by a goal from Bugeja in the second half.

A brilliant start from the Nerazzurre who managed to take charge of the game after just two minutes. In the third minute, Polli broke the deadlock on her 100th appearance for Inter. The second goal came just a minute later, a perfect move and pass which was finished by Vilhjalmsdottir to make it 2-0. Inter continued to apply the pressure and went close to a third through Glionna and then Merlo. Fiorentina did not back down as Woldvik and Bredgaard both went close. The Nerazzurre went into the break 2-0 up.

Inter started quickly at the beginning of the second half: Polli and then Schough troubled the Viola's goalkeeper. In the 62nd minute, Wijnants also went close before being denied by Rúnarsdottir. Fiorentina shortened the lead in the 68th minute: Bredgaard picked the ball up on the edge of the area and made it 2-1 with a precise effort. Inter reacted immediately, going close through a free-kick from Glionna, and then, in the 78th minute, Bugeja made it 3-1.

There were some frights late on in the game: Fiorentina tried to press high, while the Nerazzurre were forced to play with 10 players due to Bugeja receiving a red card in the 91st minute. Piovani's side, however, showed character and solidity to bring three important points home.
