Thuram hits 50 goals for Inter

From Inter vs. Fiorentina to Torino vs. Inter, with a header again and thanks to a Dimarco assist, Marcus Thuram's goal at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino marks a major milestone in his Inter career, as he reaches 50 goals for the Nerazzurri.

It’s been 966 days since that game against Fiorentina at San Siro, in which Thuram opened the scoring with his first Nerazzurri goal. It came on matchday three of the season, once again from a perfect Federico Dimarco cross. Three seasons later, the French forward has reached the 50-goal mark. Along the way, there have been plenty of victories, big moments and important goals, always with a smile on his face and a joy that has clearly spread to teammates and fans alike.

Over the years, Thuram has shown quality, skill and the ability to make an impact in decisive moments. Breaking down his 50 goals, 39 have come in Serie A, seven in the Champions League, two in the Coppa Italia and two in the Supercoppa Italiana. Of those 50 goals, 33 have been scored with his right foot, five with his left, eleven with his head, and one with his shoulder against Bologna this season.

At Inter, Marcus has developed exponentially. Used as a central striker in the Nerazzurri 3-5-2 system, “Tikus” has become a prolific finisher since arriving in Milano, reaching numbers he had never previously achieved in his career. After scoring 15 goals in 2023/24, Thuram scored 18 in the following season, his personal best, and has already surpassed that consistency in the current campaign.

His 50th goal in Nerazzurri colours came against Torino, his favourite opponent with seven career goals. He also scored his first-ever hat-trick for Inter last season against Torino. In the reverse fixture, the opening game of the 2025/26 season, Marcus celebrated a headed goal by jokingly looking for his father Lilian in the stands who had often criticised him for not scoring enough with his head. Tikus has since proved him wrong: the 50th goal also came via a header, his seventh of the season.

In recent Serie A matches, Thuram has been in red-hot form. Since the restart after the international break, the Frenchman has scored five goals across four league games. Decisive strikes that have helped Inter open up a significant gap at the top of the table.
