Thuram: "All we care about is getting out on the pitch and winning"

Another outstanding performance from Marcus Thuram, who worked for the team, found the net, attacked the space in behind and held up the ball. The Frenchman was once again at the heart of Inter’s performance against Parma, scoring in the 31st minute to give the San Siro crowd a flashback to the Scudetto showdown on 3 May. This time, he raced into open space before producing the same right-footed finish across goal and into the far corner, making it 3-0 for Inter just after the half-hour mark and sealing a dominant first half. Thuram has now scored at San Siro in six consecutive league matches, a run stretching back to Inter vs. Roma on 5 April. After scoring against the Giallorossi, he found the net against Cagliari and Parma towards the end of last season, before striking against Napoli, Udinese and Parma again in his first three appearances this season. Only Christian Vieri (11), Romelu Lukaku (seven) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (six) have managed a longer run for Inter.
Tikus shared his thoughts on Inter’s performance after the win over the Gialloblù.
“We started the game really well and I’m very happy with the win. There will always be talk about us, but we go out on the pitch to do our best and help Inter win. Not being called up by France? I would have liked to join the national team, but the coach made his decisions and I respect them. I stayed at Appiano and worked really well with the coach and the teammates who remained.”

As well as Thuram, Benjamin Pavard spoke to DAZN about Inter’s convincing victory. The French defender returned to the starting line-up after the second-round league trip to Cagliari and delivered a solid performance as Inter recorded their second clean sheet of the Serie A season.
“We’ve worked on ourselves a lot. In many games, we’ve gone behind and had to come back, but we know we can’t keep doing that all season. We put in a great performance, didn’t concede any chances and scored early. As defenders, keeping a clean sheet is also important for us, and I think we need to keep going like this. I’m very happy to be back. The past is the past: I gave everything from the start of pre-season, and I’ll give everything for Inter. I play to win trophies, and my family and I are happy to be back in Milano.”
Benjamin Pavard
