APPIANO GENTILE - Inter are on the eve of their semi-final first leg against AC Milan. Alongside head coach Simone Inzaghi at the pre-match press conference, Federico Dimarco spoke to the press before the big game:
“Like all derbies, it will be a great game. I've experienced a lot of them and I'm to be playing in a semi-final against AC Milan. I want to enjoy it to the max. I think AC Milan have come through two tough rounds against Tottenham and Napoli. They're the reigning champions of Italy and we'll try to prove to ourselves just what we can do.”
“We knew that it was a tough group but we've shown our worth on the pitch, picking up big results home and away against Barcelona. We've earned a spot in this semi-final.”
“I don't want to talk about revenge because so much time has passed since then. I was at San Siro in 2003 and to think that I was there 20 years ago and am now playing in one, it's amazing. But we need to focus on the here and now and get a good result. We can view it just as a Champions League semi-final but we also know how important the derby is. We need to go into these next six days just focusing on ourselves, before tomorrow's game and the second leg. You need both a good head and heart to play in these games.”
“My six goals and six assists are down to the team. I've improved mentally and physically because playing in games like this one means you develop quickly.”
