A special day for the former Dutch midfielder, who turns 42 today

It's a special day for Wesley Sneijder, as he turns 42 today. The former Dutch attacking midfielder, who arrived in Milano in August 2009, was a crucial player in the unforgettable 2009/10 season, the season we won the treble. His connection with the Nerazzurri fans was instant: just one day after joining Inter, Sneijder started in the derby that Jose Mourinho's side won 4-0 on 29 August 2009, immediately displaying his fantastic technical ability. Creativity, pinpoint passing, incredible shooting ability, determination, and leadership. Wesley was instrumental in the Nerazzurri's march to the Treble, scoring crucial Champions League goals against Dynamo Kyiv, CSKA Moscow, and Barcelona, while also providing sensational assists like the one for Eto'o at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. It was also a season in which he reached the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final with the Netherlands, finishing as the tournament's joint top scorer with five goals before losing to Spain in the final.

During his time with the Nerazzurri, he made 116 appearances, scoring 22 goals, providing 35 assists, and winning one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia titles, one Champions League title, one Supercoppa Italiana title, and one FIFA Club World Cup.
