Zlatko Dalić’s side secured a 1-0 win over Panama in Toronto, earning their first points of the tournament and moving a step closer to qualification for the Round of 32. Two players stood out for Croatia on the day: goalkeeper Dominik Livaković, who produced a series of decisive saves, and Ante Budimir, who scored the winning goal in the 54th minute from an assist by Josip Stanišić. Petar Sučić, who started on the bench, came on in the 72nd minute to replace Mateo Kovačić. It was the Nerazzurri midfielder’s second appearance at the World Cup. He was shown a yellow card deep into stoppage time. Croatia will return to action on Saturday 27 June at 23:00 CEST for their final Group L match against Ghana.
