Gagliardini: “This season is vital for us and we want to do well”

APPIANO GENTILE - Speaking to the Inter Channel, Roberto Gagliardini has highlighted the Nerazzurri’s ambition ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Villarreal and Real Betis: “We are training long and hard and we are ready for the two friendlies that await us before the start of the season,” said Gagliardini. “We enjoyed a good tour with some positive results. It is always important to win as it gives you confidence. We also played some good football and we hope to continue like this.” 

Following their two fixtures at San Benedetto del Tronto in Lecce, Serie A will then begin for Luciano Spalletti’s side: “It is a vital season for us,” he added. “We are coming into it with a need to improve upon last year. We must try to achieve our objectives and I hope to contribute towards this club’s success. I think that there are five or six squads that have strengthened and will be battling for the top places. Our championship is very difficult and competitive, but this is great to see and I think it’ll be a lot tougher than last year. Competition is the best thing to help you focus, while training with good teammates also helps motivate you further.”
