Stefano Vecchi's Under-19s' title defence began in the best way possible

MILAN - Merola and Rover scored as Stefano Vecchi’s Under-19s began the season as reigning champions with a win over Udinese.  After a series of chances in the first half for Merola, Emmers and Odgaard, the teams went into the break with the scores goalless.

Inter took the lead only ten seconds into the second half. Merola went around  Gasparini following Odgaard’s glancing header as Inter’s no.11 scored his first Primavera goal. The Udinese goalkeeper confirmed his status as the best player on the pitch with a stop diving save from Sala after 57 minutes. Vecchi brought Rover on for Merola and he had two chances to extend the lead but the Udinese goalkeeper won their individual duel twice.

After a great Gasparini save from Nolan, Rover made no mistake to make it 2-0 from an Emmers assist. Stefano Vecchi’s Inter picked up the first three points of the season before the derby next week at the Vismara Sporting Centre after Gennaro Gatttuso's AC Milan lost 5-1 to Sassuolo.
