Partnership created with Japanese company iCure to share the Nerazzurri’s best practices in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation

MILAN – Inter Academy have begun working in the health and wellbeing sector thanks to the new Inter Academy Health project. The organisation, which is responsible for exporting FC Internazionale Milano’s first-class youth development experience and football expertise, has teamed up with Japanese partner iCure.

iCure specialise in healthcare, physiotherapy and rehabilitation and are an established force in football thanks to their work with a club in the J1 League, the country's top division.

The partnership between Inter Academy Health and iCure will involve the exchange of best practices in terms of health and wellbeing for students and physiotherapists already operating in the industry. The aim of the project is to further develop specialists’ understanding of post-injury recovery and rehabilitation.

iCure already operate via a network of 38 physiotherapy centres and clinics across Japan and their staff will head to Italy to visit the Nerazzurri facilities before hosting their Inter healthcare counterparts for seminars and group work.

iCure chairman Eiichi Koizumi and COO Daisuke Hamaguchi visited Inter on the weekend of the league match at Roma on 26 August. The pair met Nerazzurri player Yuto Nagatomo before spending several days looking round the club’s offices and Suning Training Centre in memory of Angelo Moratti and meeting CEO Alessandro Antonello, vice president Javier Zanetti and head of the medical department Piero Volpi.

“We're delighted to enter into this new partnership which further underlines Inter's expansion as a brand both in Italy and abroad," Zanetti said.

"We're very proud to be able to share our experience in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and healthcare."

Koizumi added: “This is a great opportunity for us to benefit from the expertise of a prestigious club such as Inter, who are among the best in the business for physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

"We've been very impressed by what we've seen at Suning Training Centre and the professionalism of Inter's specialists. We're honoured to sign this partnership.”
