The Nerazzurri coach after the win in Benevento: "I'm proud of what we're doing and aware that we need to improve in certain areas"

BENEVENTO Luciano Spalletti’s Inter have picked up their sixth win from seven matches and the Coach couldn’t be anything other than satisfied with the current position in the table.  “We’re proud of what we’re doing, nobody has given us anything. We’re where we deserve to be but we certainly know that we need to improve in certain situations. There are moments in matches where our concentration drops off and we make basic mistakes but we had the right attitude on the pitch today because we couldn’t go to Benevento assuming we’d already won. We controlled the play and created a lot, then we had to find the third goal but Benevento scored instead.”

“I think that we did a lot of good things today,” Spalletti went on. “I saw some interesting exchanges but we’re still not as consistent as we have to be. However, we’re on the right road. We need to control games better at certain points, the ball always need to move at the same tempo and we can’t drop off but the team is developing compared to last year.”

There was also an individual comment on the match winner Brozovic. “Marcelo has great quality and the characteristics to play as a trequartista on the shoulders of a centre-forward,” Spalletti added. “I have the fortune of having different players who can occupy that role and I’m rotating them, I don’t see a problem with that. Move another forward closer to Icardi? That’s certainly an option, we might be able to score some more goals but I always need to judge what the best balance for the team is.”
