Icardi: "It was a perfect Sunday"

MILAN - Mauro Icardi was the star on the pitch and Mauro Icardi was the star at the Inter Store Milano. The Nerazzurri forward was in the centre of Milan with fans to take photos and sign the celebratory shirt that was made to mark 110 years of club history. 

After the event, he spoke exclusively with Inter TV. "It was a perfect Sunday because I got my 100th goal for Inter and because we played like a great team. As a forward, I need to be in the right place at the right time to score goals for the team." 

The milestone of 100 goals provided a chance to look back at his favourites. "Every goal is nice, it’s a great satisfaction to score. The goals against Juventus and the hat-trick in the derby are the ones that stick out the most. Perisic and Candreva are the teammates who have given me the most assists but all of my teammates have helped me since I’ve been here and I thank them all." 

After the international break, Inter will be back in action at San Siro against Verona. "Now, we’re thinking about Verona and then the rest. Those who are still here are preparing in the best way. Our fans are always great, they love Inter and that’s the best thing in football for us players."
