The special tournament for young cancer patients supported by Global Main Sponsor Pirelli took place over the weekend

MILAN - The 2018 Winners Cup was a great and moving party as the special tournament dedicated to young cancer patients. 250 young people aged between 14 and 25 from paediatric hemo-oncology units in Aviano, Udine, Trieste, Bari, Bologna, Bolzano, Catania, Genoa, Milan, Modena, Monza, Naples, Padua, Palermo, Pisa/Florence, Rome, Turin and Paris took part in the competition over the weekend at the Suning Youth Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti in a tournament full of substance and special values.

The initiative was supported by FC Internazionale Milano’s Global Main Sponsor Pirelli and coordinated by the CSI Milan Committee (Italian sports centre). There was also support from SIAMO (Società scientifiche italiane Insieme per gli Adolescenti con Malattie Onco-ematologiche) and FIAGOP (Società scientifiche italiane Insieme per gli Adolescenti con Malattie Onco-ematologiche).

Through the images and following words, we’d like to say a big thank you to all those who took part.

Dear Guys,

Winning in sport and on the pitch gives great joy. But, when the enemy is slimy and strikes from behind your back without notice, then winning against him is the best because the victory has been worked for and it’s also come about thanks to tears, great doctors and great parents. It’s also special to win in the name of those who fought like lions but succumbed in the end and who celebrated today with us as angels! Thanks for that you’ve shown in these days to all of those who watch you with a sense of hope.
