At the Stadio Filadelfia, Fogli's side were in control in the semi-final first leg

TURIN - It was a bitter experience for Gianmario Corti’s Berretti who lost 4-0 to Torino at the Stadio Filadelfia. Goals from Citterio, De Pierro and Peyronel made the difference along with a Rizzo own goal.

In the first half, Torino were on the front foot but Inter looked aggressive and went closest to taking the lead when Demirovic hit the bar. After twelve minutes, the home side went ahead via an unfortunate deflection off Rizzo at a Matera corner. Inter looked to attack but it was Torino who scored at the end of the half with Citterio making it 2-0.

In the second half, Corti’s side gave everything to get back in the game but couldn’t. Torino were clinical with De Pierro virtually finishing the contest in the 71st minute. Just before the end, Peyronel made it 4-0. Qualification certainly looks extremely difficult now for the Nerazzurri ahead of the second leg if they’re to make the final that they won last year against the Granata.
