The Nerazzurri players after going out to Club Brugge in the quarter-finals

LASPEZIA - Following the defeat to Club Brugge, Thomas Schirò looked back on the game: "We had a lot of players missing through injuries and international call-ups," he said. "We did what we could but we were also unlucky. We wanted to do well, we were playing as the reigning champions after winning last year and we wanted to do it again. Now, we’ll certainly give everything for the league."

Ryan Nolan also offered his thoughts: "We started the game badly and conceded straight away. In the second half, we did better but we couldn’t score. We’re doing well in the league, we’ve got Empoli up next and we need to think about winning that game."

The defender Samuele Mulattieri also discussed the result: "We had a lot of players missing but we’ve had a good tournament, we could have gone all the way but we suffered from a bit of fatigue Now, we have to think about the league and getting to the final phases and put this defeat behind us."
