Those involved get down to work on the first day of the initiative

MILAN – The Nerazzurri colours are becoming ever more prominent during Milan’s Design Week, with FC Internazionale Milano getting involved through the Design for Sport initiative. At the RM Institute for Fashion and Design located at Via Felice Casati, it was the first day of the contest to give a new design to the team’s bus for the 2019/20 season.

Within the black and blue building, students from seven of the 14 schools involved displayed their creativity on a day where the main theme was the Nerazzurri colours. On Tuesday, Javier Zanetti, Samir Handanovic and Francesco Toldo told the pupils involved about the passion, values and emotions which define Inter and make the Nerazzurri a unique Club. Innovation and internationality are both part of Inter’s philosophy, while the Club naturally embraces the world of design too, especially during a special week like this one with all that is going on in Milan.

The first day of the contest saw the youngsters come up with concepts for the Nerazzurri’s future bus. This didn’t just involve drawing, but also delving into the Nerazzurri world, with innovation, technology and a strong impetus towards the future all being at play. On Thursday, the remaining seven schools involved will come up with their own ideas. All the concepts will then be judged by an exceptional jury composed of the two CEOs from FC Internazionale Milano Alessandro Antonello and Giuseppe Marotta, Vice-President Javier Zanetti, Head of Inter Forever Francesco Toldo, Captain Samir Handanovic, President of the ADI-Association for Industrial Design Luciano Galimberti and College Director of the RM Institute for Fashion and Design Pasquale Volpe. On Saturday, the winner will be announced and an exhibition opened.

ADI President Luciano Galimberti then spoke as the first Design for Sport day was coming to a close: “Design involves establishing the deep links that objects have with the market and Club.” Antonio Calabrò, Managing Director of the Pirelli Foundation, held a speech titledPirelli e la comunicazione visiva: forma e storia di un patrimonio culturale’. This conference addressed the topics of research, innovation and technological development – all of which have always characterised Pirelli.
