The Dutch defender: Il difensore olandese: "We've moved on from the draw against Slavia, we need to show a strong reaction"

MILAN – After Inter’s draw in the Champions League against Slavia Prague, and with the upcoming #DerbyMilano in mind, Stefan De Vrij spoke to Sky Sport and SportMediaset. This is what he had to say: “It’s true: in the Champions League match a lot of things didn’t go well, our spirit was missing and this can’t happen again. They had more desire to win, we weren’t very precise and didn’t manage to play our game. But we’re looking ahead and not thinking about it anymore.  We’ve got back to work immediately: we’ve watched the game back, highlighted the mistakes we made and understood that we can’t repeat the approach we had. Now it’s up to us: we need to show a reaction.”

De Vrij continued: “We’re fired up. And now our desire and concentration levels are as high as they can be as we look to win the #DerbyMilano. It’s always a great match to play, and it’s a very important one on our journey. We’re really confident and need to show a response.”

Last season, De Vrij left his mark on the #DerbyMilano with a fantastic header: “It’s an extraordinary game for both sides. We need to get a result, even if we know that Milan are an excellent side with strong players and a good coach. We need to prepare in the best possible way.”

De Vrij then commented on the new arrivals: “Godin is a very good player, he’s helping us a lot. In defence, we’re continuing to get better with the new formation. However, we need to carry on working. Lukaku has an impressive physical stature, he’s really quick and works hard for the team. Meanwhile, Sensi has surprised everyone. He has brilliant technical ability, a good shot on him and knows how to manage the ball. We hope he carries on like this.”
