MILAN – Inter’s league campaign resumed with a victory yesterday evening: Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side showed a huge desire to win against Sampdoria, a quality that has characterised this season so far. Lukaku opened the scoring with his left foot after wonderful interplay between the Belgian, Eriksen and Lautaro, while the latter then made it 2-0 through another great team goal.

On Twitter, the Nerazzurri fans were able to vote for the player who they thought performed best at San Siro.

With over 75% of the vote, Christian Eriksen was selected as the man of the match. The Dane lit up the showdown with a high-quality performance. After having a goal disallowed early on, he went on to provide an assist for Lukaku and was a constant threat throughout, creating numerous opportunities for his teammates. Lautaro Martinez, Nicolò Barella and Romelu Lukaku came second, third and fourth respectively with similar vote shares: 8.6% for El Toro, 8.4% for the Italian midfielder and 7.7% for the Belgian centre-forward.
