The wideman scored his first Serie A goal for Inter this evening

MILAN – He hadn’t scored a Serie A goal since September 2018. Cristiano Biraghi stood out for Inter against Sassuolo, making vital interventions in defence and also contributing to the Nerazzurri’s attacking play: free kicks which were saved by Consigli, plenty of crosses and a great goal to make It 2-1. However, this finish from Inter’s 16th Serie A goalscorer this season wasn’t enough for the three points. The wideman spoke to Inter TV following the game and had the following to say: “Aside from the goal, I was happy because we’d got back into a game where we’d initially struggled to find our feet. We wanted to pick up three points and my goal gave us the lead. Unfortunately, it went the way it did. There’s a lot of regret.

“When you play for Inter, you’re part of a great team and need to move on immediately. The away trip to Parma is a chance to get back on track. We need to think like a great team. We are focused on winning. Since we’ve been back, we’ve had more opportunities than our opponents: failing to kill off games has become a problem. It happened against Napoli and today too. It’s a shame when we’re unable to win such games where we give everything to secure a victory but let the three points slip away due to our mistakes. It’s one of the steps we need to take if we want to aim high.”
