Sassuolo vs. Inter, Serie A's tribute to Maradona | Photos

REGGIO EMILIA – Just like at all the other stadiums throughout Italy, a tribute was paid to Diego Armando Maradona prior to today’s match at the Mapei Stadium.

While the teams warmed up, the song “Live is life” was played, accompanied by Maradona’s famous warm-up prior to Napoli’s match against Bayern Munich in 1989.

The teams also took to the pitch in commemorative armbands and observed a minute’s silence before kick-off as the message “CIAO DIEGO” was projected from the big screen. In the tenth minute, there was another touching moment as an image of Maradona in his number 10 shirt was displayed.
