2 MIN READING

After going a goal down, the Nerazzurri had looked to be on course for three points, but Veloso equalised late on

Three points continue to elude Inter, who drew 2-2 with Hellas Verona. It was a tough game for Conte’s men, who found themselves a goal down after just two minutes. Lazovic skipped past Skriniar and managed to beat Handanovic at his near post. The Nerazzurri didn’t react, and almost conceded a second: Veloso hit the post (18’) and, two minutes later, Dimarco missed a chance to double the hosts’ lead. Inter grew into the game late in the first half: Gagliardini, Sanchez and Brozovic all threatened Silvestri’s goal but couldn’t find the finish. Inter looked a much-changed side in the second half, largely driven by Candreva. The Italian wing-back first had an attempt saved from distance, before equalising to make it 1-1. Six minutes later, in the 55th minute, the goal that should have been the winner. Gagliardini was heavily involved as he picked out Candreva, whose cross was deflected in by Dimarco: 2-1 to Inter. The Nerazzurri didn’t manage to extend their lead, in spite of the efforts of Lautaro. And Verona took advantage: Rrahmani’s assist provided Veloso’s equaliser (87’). It finished 2-2.
