The Nerazzurri defender, born in 2002, made his senior debut tonight: "It was an evening filled with emotion"

FERRARA - Among the highlights of Inter's drubbing of SPAL on their home turf, on an evening where the Nerazzurri secured a comfortable, well-earned result that brings them back to second place in the Serie A standings, was Lorenzo Pirola's debut.

Born in 2002, the Nerazzurri defender expressed his joy at making his debut after rising through the ranks of Inter's Elite Academy: "I'm feeling a range of emotions, I've supported Inter since I was a little boy. I started my journey with the Under-14s and it's always been my dream to make my debut in this shirt."

"It was an evening that was full of emotion. Since July last year, when I was called up to the First Team, it's always been my goal to keep getting better, and I'm chuffed that I've made my Serie A debut at just 18 years of age.

"I've learned that you need to keep your cool, even if it's your debut, and you've got to try and enjoy yourself as much as possible and not to get muddled up: you've got to act as though everything is normal. My next goals? To continue growing as a player and fight for my place in the First Team."
