INTER AND SPANISH SIDES: NO PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS WITH SEVILLA

The Europa League Final will be the first ever meeting between Inter and Sevilla in a European competition. This is the sixth time in eleven seasons of the Europa League in its current format that the two finalists have never previously faced one another. The last time this happened was in 2015/16, when Sevilla beat Liverpool 3-1.

INTER’S OVERALL RECORD AGAINST SPANISH SIDES: 15 wins, 13 draws, 21 losses in 49 meetings, with 55 goals scored and 68 conceded.

INTER’S RECORD AGAINST SPANISH SIDES IN THE UEFA CUP/EUROPA LEAGUE: Five wins, three draws and five losses in 13 meetings, with 17 goals scored and goals conceded.

SEVILLA’S RECORD AGAINST ITALIAN SIDES: Six wins, two draws and five losses in 13 meetings.

INTER’S SEASON

Inter have won all five of their Europa League outings so far this season, and could win their sixth consecutive match in a UEFA competition for just the second time in their history (the other being when they won six on the bounce between December 2009 and April 2010).

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has scored in each of his last seven matches with Inter in European competitions (eight goals and four assists). Lukaku has scored 33 goals in all competitions this season: no Nerazzurri player has done better since Samuel Eto’o in 2010/11, who scored a total of 37.

This season, Inter have achieved a record goal tally, netting 111 times in 53 matches, which amounts to an average of 2.1 goals a game. This surpasses the Nerazzurri's 1950/51 and 2006/07 tallies, and sets Inter’s record for a single season since Serie A implemented a round-robin format in 1929/30. Furthermore, Inter have had 19 different goalscorers this season. The goals have been split between competitions as follows: 81 in Serie A, seven in the Coppa Italia, ten in the Champions League and 13 in the Europa League.

Inter’s top four scorers this season are as follows: Lukaku (33), Lautaro (21), Candreva (seven), D'Ambrosio (five).

SEVILLA’S CUP SUCCESSES AND THEIR CURRENT FORM

Sevilla are the most successful side in UEFA Cup/Europa League history, having now reached the final on six occasions (including tomorrow) and having won the trophy five times - more than any other side. Sevilla have never lost a UEFA final.

Sevilla are on their longest unbeaten streak in all competitions in the club’s history (20 games, eleven wins, nine draws); out of all the sides in La Liga, only Real Madrid recorded a longer streak this season, with a run of 21 games unbeaten between October and February.

In the semi-final, Suso and Luuk de Jong become Sevilla’s tenth and eleventh scorers in the Europa League this season. Excluding own goals, only Manchester United (twelve) have seen more names on the scoresheet in this edition of the tournament.

Sevilla have never lost a single-legged knockout tie in the UEFA Cup/Europa League (6W, 2D), winning each of their last five which included two finals. Tomorrow night’s game will see both Antonio Conte and Julen Lopetegui coaching their first cup final in a European competition, with this pair making up two of six coaches to boast a win rate above 70% in the Europa League (for coaches to have overseen at least ten games in the competition). Conte ranks second with ten wins from 13 (77%), while Lopetegui comes in at fourth on eight wins from eleven (73%).
