MILAN – Carlotta Cartelli and Irene Santi have been chosen as role models for the Inspiring Girls International initiative promoted by VALORE D, the first corporate association promoting gender balance and an inclusive culture to foster companies' and the country's growth.
On Monday 22 November, the Inter Women players met youngsters from a school in Rho, near Milan, as part of the project, which is run in 24 countries with the aim of encouraging girls to follow their dreams without gender stereotypes. 'Inspiring Girls' does this by connecting youngsters with role models – passionate, successful women in different fields of work – who can motivate them to set no limits for themselves in chasing their aspirations, whatever they may be.
The two Inter Women players shared their stories with girls and boys at the school, talking about their passion for football and how they became Inter players, while stressing the importance of values such as teamwork, inclusivity and acceptance of diversity – a constructive meeting geared towards the new generations.
