Alessandro Bastoni made his 100th appearance for Inter in all competitions in the goalless draw with Atalanta on Sunday.
The defender’s debut for the club came on 28 September 2019 in a 3-1 win away to Sampdoria. Since that day, he became a regular starter as the left centre-back in the Inter rearguard, improving in terms of performance, quality and character with each passing game.
A left-footed player with real swagger, Bastoni scored a pair of headers in his first season at the club against Lecce and Parma. He had to wait until the current campaign for his maiden goal at San Siro thanks to a marvellous left-footed strike from long range in the win over Lazio on 9 January 2022.
Bastoni has now made 77 Serie A appearances for the club, combined with five in the Coppa Italia, 12 in the Champions League, five in the Europa League and one in the Italian Super Cup. As a key member of the Scudetto-winning team, the defender now has an Italian Super Cup medal to his name as well.
With nine senior international caps to his name, the defender also made one appearance at EURO 2020 in summer 2021 as Italy were crowned European champions.
