Having arrived to Inter after four years with Lazio, Acerbi reunited with Simone Inzaghi, the Coach who guided him at Lazio for three seasons. In Milano, Francesco has written new, brilliant pages in the story of his career: having become a solid element of the Inter defence, during his first season Acerbi made 49 appearances, becoming one of the main components of the side that made it to the Champions League Final against Manchester City. A season in which Inter won the Supercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia, a competition in which Acerbi scored the winning goal in extra time in the Last-16 tie against Parma. His second year with Inter was unforgettable: Francesco played 38 games in all competitions, winning the Supercoppa and the Scudetto della Seconda Stella, making his mark in some very important games. Acerbi scored three goals, against Bologna, Roma and most importantly in the Derby against AC Milan, the match that won Inter the league title. His marking ability became synonymous with reliability: over the years, Acerbi has put in some brilliant performances, managing to deny top-quality opponents. A true example of grit and determination, in total Francesco has made 71 appearances in Serie A, 20 in Champions League, six in Coppa Italia and three in the Supercoppa, scoring four goals. This milestone tells a story which is full of success and satisfaction, making Francesco a point of reference for all of his teammates and the Nerazzurri fans.
